European School of Transfusion Medicine

ESTM

The European School of Transfusion Medicine (ESTM) is a non-profit association under the Italian law, founded in 1992 by Umberto Rossi (Milano) and other colleagues to harmonize and foster the teaching of transfusion medicine in Europe and also in non-EU countries. For more than 20 years the ESTM provides teaching programs for specialist physicians, other graduates and personnel such as nurses and technicans employed in departments of transfusion medicine, blood donation establishments or laboratory facilities.

​The Medical University Graz and the Department of Blood Group Serology and Transfusion Medicine have got the status of an Operational Centre of ESTM for the period 2015 – 2017 enables us to offer both attractive training courses in basis and advanced transfusion medicine, and also scientific programs in conjunction with related disciplines.

With first priority we will focus our educational activities on:

  • Immunohematology
  • Rational hemotherapy and patient blood management
  • Cellular therapies
